Hi and thank you!
Just a few questions:
Are they light weight like the Competitor?
Whats the difference between Premiere and Competitor?
And finally, Ive herd that the Premiere is stiff, is it really bad, or will it loosen up a bit if skated in allot?

Thank you! :)

Hey there :)

So I have the Jackson Premiere figure skate boots and they are GREAT!! I have had them for about 3 months now and I have seen a definite difference in my skating for the better. Just so you know, the break in period can take a little longer then the Jackson Competitor, but the outcome is just that much better. Breaking the Premieres in depends on how often you skate. For me, it took about a month to FULLY break in, and I skate about 3 times a week.

I have heard that the Jackson Premiere is better then the Jackson Competitor because the Premiere is stiffer, for a little higher levels, and can take 'heavier' jumps. I would say that the Premiere and the Competitor are about the same weight, but I have never personally tried the competitors.

The Premiere is fairly stiff, but you will 'loosen up' when you break them in. The stiffness will help with keeping your ankles in place in jumps and landing.

I would definitely recommend the Jackson Premiere figure skate boot. Remember to talk to your coach or pro shop sales person before you buy your skates, they might have a better opinion about which skates you should get (based on what level you are, how old you are, and how often you skate).

I have them, they are pretty good so far - I only got them a few weeks ago, with Ultima Protege blades. :) As far as weight goes, I'm not really sure how they are compared to the Competitor - but they do feel lighter than my old Freestyles.

I do know that they have a higher stiffness rating than Competitors, and I think Competitors are sometimes available with a stock blade (?) but Premieres only come as a boot. Also, Premieres have a rolled topline on the tongue which I don't think Competitors have.

They are pretty stiff, but have been relatively easy to break in for me. All I've got is bruised ankles - but luckily no blisters!! They're getting better now I've been skating in them and are loosening up. For me, they made a huge difference in my jumps. They are a lot higher. Since getting my Jackson Premieres, I'm now landing axels consistently, and have landed double sals and double toes in them, and my single jumps are a lot higher! I'd definitely recommend them, although remember it depends on your level and weight!

Hey there!!

I have the Jackson Premiere Boots with Ultima Mirage Blades. I got them about 4 weeks ago and they are just amazing. I'm currently doing single axels and soon to be double jumps. They are very lightweight considering the amount of padding and support in the boot, they are definitely more lightweight than the Freestyles.

The Premiere and Competitor are very similar as far as I know? The competitor is an outfit that is packaged with Ultima Aspire Blades and is around $350 AUD. The Premiere is the boot with more padding and better support and sells for around the same price. They both have layered leather and cork soles and metal hooks.

As for stiffness, I haven't personally owned or tried the competitor but I imagine the Premiere would only be slightly stiffer. I skate once/twice a week for around 2 hours each and I broke them in in about 2 weeks... The only tip I can give you when you are breaking in boots is to skate as hard as you can, get used to the new skates, the new blades and the feeling on the ice... Do all the jumps and spins you can to get used to them... I didn't really have many blisters apart from the first time I wore them.

All my jumps are a lot higher and stronger and my spins have improved amazingly since I got these skates.

I bought mine from overseas (I'm from Australia) from Cyclone Taylor Figure Skating:

The lady that organised my purchase was lovely and really helpful! :)

Enjoy your new skates!
