Okay, I am interested in buying cheap but good skates for figure skating. So far I go and practice tricks and spins at public skate with rentals, but i soon might take a few lessons. I will not be competing tho just taking lessons. I went to Rainbo Sports today and the lady suggested Riedell's Women's Red Ribbon Figure Skates for like $115, i wear a size 7 in skate size but are they good skates for the money??? please tell me which company/brand you suggest and if you think i should buy them or suggest another pair. or should i get comfort skates, ahh please help :[
thanks so much fer yer time!

if you have any questions or would like more information please e-mail me at horse-luver7@comcast.net

Those are really nice skates. I have them and I love them. I am in Delta (and taking a jump and spin class along with basics) and they are still doing the job, but probably not for long. $115 is higher than what I paid for them, $95 is the average. $115 should get you Blue Ribbons.

Stick with Riedell they're great skates! The red ribbons or blue ribbons are nice for recreational or beginning skaters. I have worn Riedells ever since I've been skating. They last you for a while and rainbo sports offered you a great deal. like any other skate they take a little while to break in but are much better then rental skated because they adjust to your feet and have better support for your ankles.

The jackson 520 series is the perfect recreational skate! i got them a year ago for 60 bucks! they are confortable and offer lots of foot support. I highly recomend them. I am upgrading next month, and also recomend reidell skates or the jackson classic for upgrades later on.

Jacksons are good, i think you should get either the Mystique, Artiste or Classique.

Check them out on the internet.

Good luck in your skating

I would suggest checking out Kinzie's Closet for your figure skating needs. They have competitive pricing and their staff is very knowledgeable.
